It looks like it’s that time of year again and Ruger is in new product release mode. Their latest announcement appeared in my inbox this morning; a conversion kit for the LC380 that converts it into a 9mm LC9.
Unlike the LCR in .327 Magnum the conversion kit is available for order today directly from shopruger.com for $299.
I like the idea but I’m not so excited about that pricing. The retail cost of an LC9 is around $450 and street prices are probably closer to $360-375. I guess there are be areas where owning more than one handgun is difficult so having two calibers with a single serial number may be of some value but for me I would really rather spend the extra $60-75 for a second handgun rather than a conversion kit.
What do you think?
