We were able to put some money away into savings this week. Not as much as we have been or we were hoping to put away but at least we set some aside. We’re getting closer to having 3 month’s of my salary in savings. For some of you that may seem like a lot and for some it may seem like very little but it’t way better than we were a few years ago and once we reach that we’ll up the goal to 6 month’s salary and so on and so forth. This does not include investments or retirement savings, just cash in the bank.
I made it out to the range this week (finally). I was able to test out some new gear and just get in some mush needed practice.
I cleaned and polished one hundred .38 Special cases that I hope to be able to reload shortly. I purchased some IMR Trail Boss powder for reloading but I don’t know if this would actually be considered a prep or not. The primary, and probably only, purpose for this powder will be to load ammunition for a Webley MKII that my grandfather passed down to me.
I restocked my EDC bag (mostly) of the things I found to be missing when pulling it apart for the post on My EDC. I still need to buy a new lighter to add back in.
I picked up a new flashlight for EDC. It’s a Streamlight Stylus Pro and, so far, I really like it. It seems well made and throws 64 lumens on two AAA batteries. the instant on function works really well but it is actually pretty difficult to click the rubberized button to keep it on. I don’t know if that is by design. It may also be something that loosens up with use. We’ll see.
That’s what I prepped this week. How about you?
