Random links to various news stories and blog posts that caught my attention this week:
8 Quality Carry Guns for under $400, The Rebuttal – A recent Guns and Ammo article offered suggestions for eight quality carry guns for under $400. Greg Ellifritz offers his insights as an instructor who has seen these guns in “action” and offers his own list in response. I’d tend to lean towards Greg’s recommendations since he doesn’t get paid by advertisers to sell guns. On the LCP, I will add my own $0.02 since I owned and carried one for years. Mine was very reliable…until it wasn’t. I made it through several thousand fairly trouble free rounds before it locked up tighter that an alligator’s jaws. It was repaired by Ruger but now feeds properly only when it feels like it.
It’s Only a .22… – …but it can still kill you. Peter Grant offers another post on the potential of the lowly .22 LR as a defensive caliber for those who may have challenges with larger calibers including this eye opening video by .22 Plinkster:
The Snub Nose Revolver vs. Compact Semi-Auto Handguns – One of my new favorite sites had a really good overview of the advantages and disadvantages of small revolvers vs. small semi-autos.
God bless and have a great weekend!
