What Did You Prep This Month?

Walk With God

Continued praying for my 100 closest neighbors, teaching Sunday School and attending church. I started a self-study of 1 Timothy and a Wednesday night class on 2 Timothy. Whew! That’s a lot.

Self Defense/Hunting

Started stocking up on ammunition again, just buying a few extra boxes each payday.

I also picked up another .308 bolt action rifle. It was on sale…really. It is a Thompson/Center Compass and was on sale for $275 plus a $50 gift card making the actual price $225 (+plus the government’s cut). This will be equipped with a 4×12 scope (that I already own) and I will set it up for longer range hunting (200+yards).

I made a trip to range as well to sight in several rifles and get a little practice before hunting season.

Nothing here. It is time to inventory and restock the emergency pantry. Unfortunately, we had to move it all when we were worried about flooding during Imelda so that it a big project but one I need to take care of soon.

Nothing new here.

This has really been our primary area of focus; building up our savings. We have a number of home repairs that need to be done and a new car for Wonderful Wife so we need to build it up.

We had one good week of walking but then, again, back into laziness…

That’s it for me. That’s what I prepped this month. How about you? What did you Prep this month?

Take care and God Bless

  1. Everything has been on hold this month as SWMBO has been ill BUT I did have to slip (open) a latch key as our host had given us the wrong keys and I had to get SWMBO into the warm.
This was a classic example of “where’s our EDC?”
Only in this case it was inside not with us. Oops.
All I needed was my flexible plastic sheet (6×4″). (cut from a plastic place mat)
Thus I ended up using my one and only store loyalty card.
It broke it in two but at least I had the door open.

This is part of my own advice to people that everyone needs skills beyond the usual survival mantra.
Sometimes they will fall into that grey area of not quite legal.
Only to be used in a survival scenario where entry beyond locks and barriers can save lives.

    Go Bless.
