Despite (or maybe because of) the US government being one of his largest customers this billionaire has been outspoken in his criticism of overreach on their part. In a stand of actual resistance, he moved the headquarters of Tesla out of California in protest of their COVID lock down policies.
When asked about the multi-trillion dollar Build Back Better Act he was decidedly against it. Despite the fact that the investments in electric vehicle infrastructure could benefit Tesla.
“I would say can this bill, don’t pass it. That’s my recommendation.”
“It does not make sense to take the job of capital allocation away from people who have demonstrated great skill in capital allocation, and give it to an entity that has demonstrated very poor skill in capital allocation, which is the government.”
In my mind, he absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one:
“Government is simply the biggest corporation, with the monopoly on violence.”
I couldn’t agree more, except to add that “the biggest” corporation, like many others, does not have the best interests of American or Americans at heart. In fact, at this point, I would say that this particular corporation is anti-American.
Be alert, get prepared, fight the good fight!
God bless and God save the Republic.
